So today Jenna and I went to the UPS store. I saw the line inside and thought, hmmmm, what could happen. I really needed to mail my package.
It began when I opened the door and the bells on the door jingled. Jenna shouted HO HO HO and took off inside. Because the girl likes her some Santa Claus. She went up to the clerk and alternated between asking for HO HO HO, and Church, both of which I am sure most UPS stores stock. The clerk was awesome. When the door jingled again, Jenna began dancing, and the clerk joined right in.
At this point, I was able to get Jenna to sit in the office chair, as it was going to be a bit of a wait. An office chair. An office chair with wheels. An office chair with wheels that spins in a circle. Yes, that chair. Jenna figured out quickly that she could wheel around, like she does in gymnastics with the wheeled floor scooter. Except much bigger than the floor scooter. During the discovery of the spinning in circle element of the chair, Jenna saw the display section of mailing boxes. So glad that Christmas mailing boxes were on display in October. Jenna became lazor focused again on finding Santa. I discovered that when someone pulls off the Christmas box in October without lifting it over the rail, the rail falls off, the boxes fall down, and bring the large pile of plastic mailing bags along with them. Never afraid of helping, Jenna began putting them back on the shelf, marching in place, and singing “Work, Work, Work” as she often does when helping.
On the way out of the store, Jenna high fives all the customers in line, then turns around and blows a big kiss to everyone. Outside, she pretended to wipe her brow, and said OOOOSH and Tired. Yes. Yes I am sure she was.
